“You don't get oneness by disappearing — that would be oneness with a hole in it!”
I was blessed recently to interview and dialogue with the wonderful Jessica Eve of
.We explored Jessica’s journey; the shadows and blindspots of radical nonduality; and the more inclusive paradigms of spirituality she and I have found ourselves exploring after becoming disenchanted with radical nonduality.

Jessica’s Profound Journey
In our interview, Jessica Eve shares her transformative journey through nonduality, revealing the complex landscape of spiritual exploration, self-discovery, and the potential pitfalls of radical self-negation.
Jessica's journey began about 14 years ago, initially drawn to teachings by authors like Michael Singer and Eckhart Tolle. She was seeking relief from an obsessive mind and extreme rumination, finding solace in teachings that promised freedom from suffering through the dissolution of self.
The Allure of Self-Negation
Her exploration led her deep into what she now views as "Neo-Advaita" — a modern interpretation of nonduality that emphasizes complete self-dissolution. She experienced states of:
Radical inner peace
Desirelessness
Ego dissolution
Experiencing herself as "pure awareness"
The Shadow Side of Nonduality
However, Jessica's journey took a critical turn when she began to recognize the dehumanizing aspects of her spiritual path. She discovered profound challenges, including:
Nihilism: Losing motivation and meaning in life
Dissociation: Feeling disconnected from her body and relationships
Memory and Empathy Issues: Experiencing cognitive and emotional impairments
Solipsism: Questioning the reality of other people
Finding a Balanced Approach
Jessica eventually discovered a more holistic perspective, embracing:
Individuality
Relationality
Embodied experience
Fluid exploration of different modes of perception
Key Insights
Spiritual paths are not one-size-fits-all
Liberation doesn't require self-negation
One can experience unity while celebrating individual experience
Blessings
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did and find benefit in it.
With Love,
Jordan
